The Magic Of A Compelling Dream...

The reason behind any success story would first and foremost be a dream. A dream for life is to destination for a journey, without which neither of them will be significant. And that dream must a compelling one. By the word compelling, it is meant that every action performed should be intended towards the accomplishment of the goal. Dreams are seedlings of reality. They propel the individual in the direction of success. Dreams compel one to prioritize his activities, which avoid time wasters.
A dream is a wish that a heart makes. Dreaming is the art of seeing things invisible. A dreamer never sees things as they are, but he is futuristic about how they can be. For instance, Walt Disney’s dream, from the beginning, was never to build a company to make cartoons for kids, but it was “to use imagination to bring happiness to millions”. Dreams mysteriously tug people in their direction.
Compelling dreams attract success through three strategies. They allow the use of natural talents to fullest extent. Creation of a compelling dream will help people identify their natural talents and build upon them. The next is that dreams identify the path to be followed. Once there is a vision, automatically the roads for realizing the vision lays down itself in front of the dreamer. There is a clear cut idea as to how to go about to achieve success. The final strategy is that dreams make decision making easier. Boats are not always destined to sail in the direction of winds. In order to reach the proper destination one may have to break through different hardships like the winds for the boats.
There is lot of possibilities that the choices one makes for life on the path to the accomplishment of the dream are not the choices others would make. Beautifully illustrated by Robert Frost, “Two roads diverged in the yellow woods, and I took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference”, that life is full of choices, and one’s destiny is based on the choices he makes. Successful people not only think big, but also differently. It is more likely to make unpopular choices on the roads to success and satisfaction.
Walt Disney shall pose himself as an incredible trendsetter to all the dreamers around the globe. America’s most celebrated amusement park, the Disney land was at first a mere dream. Walt Disney, its creator, was from a mediocre family. He started off from a very humble beginning of imagining cartoon characters relating to many animals in his garden, to becoming the creator of the world’s largest entertainment companies. He never paid heed to those who criticized his talent of imagination, including his teachers, who were not pleased with him. He had his share of failures and successes in his work, but his dream to use imagination to bring happiness to people never died. This was because he believed in his dreams implicitly and unquestionably. Walt Disney created a compelling dream that kept him on the move even at time of hardships.
As a dreamer one need not be realistic, but rather be futuristic. Dreams provide fuel on the roads to success; they get us going even when we are run down. When Walt Disney was humiliated every time he approached some one for approval of the project, he never lost hope as he saw the promise of his dream for the future. But, when Disney Land was created in reality, Walt was never there to see it. At the inaugural function of the amusement park, one of the reporters felt sorry for Walt Disney, and went up to Mr. Roy, Walt’s brother, and said “it’s a tragedy that Walt Disney never got to see the Disney world”, to which Mr. Roy replied that it he was wrong. He said that Walt Disney saw the Disney world in his imagination first, that was why all the others are seeing it physically.
Success requires mental creation succeeded by physical creation. One has to cross the bridge even before others know that there is one.
The greatest achievement was at first and for time a dream.
The oak sleeps in the acorn, the bird waits in the egg,
And in the highest vision of the soul, a waking angel stirs.
Dreams are seedlings of realities.
Let us aspire to be big thinkers and greater achievers.
